All our staff receive ongoing training and all our guides, Dive Masters and Instructors are Emergency First Response trained and are fully conversant with the local support operations from Doctors to Hyperbaric Chambers AQUARIUS is abiding to both the Egyptian u/w Federation and the PADI Standards. |
Prior to diving, you will be required to complete a PADI Medical Statement form. If you are in any doubt about your medical status for diving then see your physician for his advise and medical statement giving you clearance to dive.
However, should you have a medical problem concerning diving and not be in the possession of a medical statement we will be happy to help you consult the well known diving physician Dr. Adel Taher at the hyperbaric chamber located at the Travco Jetty, just after Old Sharm. |
Safety, for you, your buddy and us, is of paramount importance. You will be required to assure us that you will follow the PADI and local safety procedures for diving. |
Our boats are equipped with VHF radios, linking them to the official Search & Rescue operation in Sharm El Sheikh, in order to take the proper measures according to the emergency plan we have established. In addition to the VHF you will find on the boats an emergency first aid kit and oxygen cylinder. Our guides undergo a rescue drill twice a year to keep their rescue and EFR skills at the highest level. |
No matter your diving level, before going on a diving trip you will do a check dive off the Sheraton House Reef or from one of our local dive boats. The check dive is to ensure your mastering of the basic diving skills and to make sure you are weighted correctly. Our guides will always give you a thorough briefing before all dives, in which they will limit you to non-decompression dives and a maximum depth of 30 metres, as by Egyptian law. |
Sharm El Sheikh houses 2 hyperbaric chambers, one is located at the International Hospital in Naama Bay, the other 200m from the main Travco Jetty just opposite the Search And Rescue. The hyperbaric chamber at the Jetty is headed by the well known and internationally acknowledged Consultant in diving medicine Dr. Adel Taher, who has also led the implementation and development of the chamber since the opening 1993. |
